Ismaili file Al Ahly complaint

First Published: November 4, 2007

CAIRO: Ismaili have filed a complaint to the Egyptian Football Association, protesting Al Ahly fans' behavior during the 1–1 league draw on Thursday.

"We decided to complain after Al Ahly fans chanted abusive words against Chairman Yehia Al-Koumi during the match," Ismaili spokesman Abdel Rahman Anous told FilGoal.com on Saturday.

"Their spectators also set off fireworks and caused damages in the stands while Ismaili fans perfectly behaved."

Despite Anous' assertion that Ismaili fans kept their demeanor, Al Ahly claimed they have damaged the team's bus after the match.

"Their accusations are untrue," Anous added.

The latest row is likely to intensify the rivalry between both sides, who are indirectly involved in Hosni Abd-Rabou's transfer saga.

Strasbourg insist that they own the midfielder's contract, while Ismaili claim they bought him from the French side.

Al Ahly previously announced that they reached an agreement with Strasbourg that will see Abd-Rabou join the Red Devils.

The case is being investigated by Fifa.
