Meteb undecided over Bristol offer

CAIRO: Emad Meteb is yet to decide whether to accept Bristol City's offer to join them this summer, Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi said on Saturday.

"Meteb may end up turning down the offer because it doesn't suit a player of his caliber," Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com

"Ahly's technical staff will also have the final word over whether Meteb can leave the club."

Bristol offered £1.5M for the services of Egyptian international.

The offer, which was sent to Ahly on Friday, also included a clause which entitles the Egyptian champions to get 10 percent of the player's next sale.

It was also stressed that the offer is not negotiable and that Ahly have a maximum of five days to respond.

Bristol, who finished fourth in the English Championship last season, almost sealed promotion to the Premiership, only to be defeated by newly-promoted Hull City in the playoffs.

Manager Gary Johnson implied recently that he is looking to reinforce the squad for next season.

Meteb scored five league goals for the Reds last term, but was continuously criticized by pundits for being out of form.

The 25-year-old was on the verge of joining Russian side FC Saturn in March, but the deal fell through due to a disagreement over the transfer period.
